spoken like a pro sweetpea!
Well I'm pleased to hear that, PI - if only because a lot of mums don't bother to take time off with their children. Hope the weather warms up and you can all have a nice break - x

Was going to add to yours sweetpea - then P could have Tuesday, Wednesday.....what the hell - it was a bad cold!
Monday morning blues, thats all perigra

hi Ice, a lot of mums cant always always take their holidays to coincide with the school hols.
Hi there petal. You're right about a lot of mums not being able to take time off work to be with their children, but what I said was - a lot don't bother - i.e., don't WANT to. It's different from simply not being able to. Such a shame though, isn't it? Was reading in some paper today about a survey of working parents. Out of the replies, something like 70% only see their children for up to 1.5 hours a day!!!! I think it's terrible. No wonder the kids are running riot. If I was in that situation, I'd rather live on next to nothing, yet be with my children, than not. x
hi again Ice, Yes I know what you mean.... I juggle work with the kids. Work wants me to start really early, or finish late. I have to take the finish late option, as I have school runs, one which is 13 miles round trip each morning.

So either way its difficult.... the guilt is always there. Cant win!

I work to live, not other way round. My kids have always come first. But its not easy.... juggling! xx
Don't worry Petal - I appreciate what you're saying. I'm also rushed off my feet most days - so end up on AB to wind down a bit! I do the school run if at all possible, and like you, have a few miles to do each day. The only thing I can be grateful for, is that any work I do is centred around home, so if it came to it, I could just take a break, or get someone else to take over. It must be a difficult choice for a lot of working parents, & I wasn't implying that everyone can't wait to palm their children off, but I DO know some who might've been better off not having a family at all, such as some of the children who boarded in at my school. They got used to it, but were often unhappy. The worst thing was in knowing their parents could've had them at home. A slightly different situation, but they felt rejected all the same.
I come on AB in the evening too Ice, for a bit of a wind down. Only trouble is I tend to stay on here too late, and wake up at 6.45 tomorrow wishing I hadn't!

And everyone on here who hears me and my rants, knows I am a divorced mum of 4 children. So everything is down to me.

Every week I pray I will win a bit on the lottery lol

Night Ice....catch you soon xxxx

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you win the lottery. It's people like you who deserve to, and you have my admiration for managing so well.
