Hi all,

Wondering if any of you lovely lot out there can help me please?

We are planning a themed family get together night on
St Patricks day, with food etc.

I want to make a cd up to play on the night of happy, lively, foot tapping Irishy style songs and im wondering if you have any suggestions please.

I've already got two on my list !! lol - Sham Rock's I'll tell you Ma (i love that song!) and The Pogues/Dublinners Irish Rover..

Soooo, get your thinking caps on everyone! :o)

Anyone with ideas of any little additional Irish touches to make our night a good one would be most appreciated.

Thank youuuu :o)

Two that spring to mind:

and

'I Useta Lover' by The Saw Doctors

Dropkick Murphys
Christy Moore
Yes - The Pogues - Irish Rover. You can't help but join in with it!
None of these are Irish but Levellers - One Way is a fairly famous song with some fiddles.

The Men They Couldn't Hang have a few fiddles.

The Pogues Sally Maclannan is quite bouncy.

Thanks again for more great song ideas!

Will definately be listening to these suggestions and hopefully adding them to my list.

keep em coming!

:o)

Thank youuuu
Get a copy of the Pogues album "Rum Sodomy & The Lash" and you're off to a great start.

Then get a Dubliners compilation - their 25th Anniversary one is good, but make sure it's Ronnie Drew era stuff.

Dropkick Murphys are great too!
I'll tell me ma, is one to get them dancing, loads of versions including the the already mentioned Dubliners
Sorry didn't read you post properly or i'd have seen you already had it, great song tho
