How can I find my family?

Both my brothers and I were fostered when we were younger, I would like to find my parents and get back in contact with them. I have tried their last known address, the electoral roll and social services with no luck. They seem to have vanished! Does anyone have any ideas of how I could find them?

I have the ability to attempt to find people using databases I have access to through my job.

The only issue here is one of data protection - I obviously don't want to display my contact details here, you shouldn't want to provide either your contact details, or your parents details.

Plus, I shouldn't really use the facilities like this, but it's a good cause.

If any moderators (are there any on here?) have a way of putting us in contact, I'm willing to help - I'm only available for the next 20 minutes today, then next week (9 to 5 only)

That's really kind of you but I don't want to get you in trouble! I'm only available the same hours as you.

How do moderators work? I don't want to give my details to anyone dodgy! (No offence meant!)
either of you could post an email address for you to make contact. you are allowed to post that on here.

Good luck CAJ1. Hope you find your family.
I've done it and so have many others.

If I post my email address on here other people will be able to see it and then anyone could be contacting me! Is it safe?
As I said I have done it many times, and others also posted theirs for their friends so they can correspond. No one cares about that, and you could always block a person address who you don't want to correspond with.

Thanks very much figure.

gouldc: My email address is: [email protected] - I look forward to hearing from you

Or you could create another email address just for gouldc and post it on here.
and even better put a spce before and after the @ or make the @ a (at) we all know what it means but spam bots tend to not pick up the address if its posted like that I'm harrassed with spam because my email is on my website
Contact the salvation army, That worked for me when I was looking for someone, and if I remember rightly, you only have to give a donation. Hope this helps
