Any advice for the best/correct drill bit for drilling 6mm holes in a uPVC will be welcome. I am fitting a door knocker

a normal metal drill bit,but go at it carefully,it will probably snatch a little as you break through the surface.A slightly blunt drill will reduce this tendency

Many thanks ianmunt. Can now proceed with a better level of confidence.
why don't you fit a wireless bell and save possibly damaging the door the bell push is self adhesive or can be stuck with silicone sealant-------dead easy!
