Well I believe in upping the claim because you will get knocked back on the excess anyway.

Buy an old camera from charity shop, keep case and lose camera. on holiday.

Claim 200 and send case as proof etc. Why not.
Is what ok? Making fraudulent claims?

No, it isn't. It costs me and every other insured perso needlessly.

It is deception and may lead to a prison sentence.

If somebody is prepared to lie about their claim, what else would they lie about?
Ethel, accept the 21st century. Everbody fiddles.

We have great role models don't we.
I keep my insurance relatively low by having a high excess - it's a gamble.

If I lose anything under 250 I can afford to replace it, and I save on my insurance.

As I haven't claimed in 20 years, my strategy has paid off. If anything major happens, I am covered.

The only excuse for dishonesty is greed. And lack of self respect.
I don't fiddle.

It isn't greed Ethel it is just playing the Insurance companies at their own game.

I have had the same car written off twice, each time driven by my wife when the accident was not her fault.

You get sucked into the mechanism, hire car, repairs, whiplash compensation.

I bought the particular car for 800. Got over 3000 compo plus insurance and bought the car back twice, once for 40 and again for 25.

It is a game.
You are being fiddled Ethel. How much have you paid in 20 years and for what return.

I have made decent money out of the insurance firms.

That is their business, risk.
Insurance firms live of fear.

When was the last time you saw a burglar running down the street with more than 100 worth of swag on his back.
It is easy to get all hot and bothered about this subject. Of course it isn't OK and I wouldn't get involved in insurance fraud, or playing them at their game as Doc calls it.

But who can honestly say they have not pinched envelopes from work etc. Someone has to pay for that.

I recently acquired several cans of paint. A mix up meant it was ordered twice and did we want it? Yes. Naughty yes.

This week we have been the victims of opportunists who caused us some inconvenience and Mr Rabbity a minor coronary. It could have cost us money too. But it is sorted now.

It is the way of the world, but things have gone too far and we can not go back.
Insurance firms want it all their own way.

Their excesses policies are mildy fraudulent.

How many people dont claim because it costs them money, loss of bonuses etc.

They deserve a bloody nose from time to time.
Insurance companies pay out big mony when things go wrong - they are a business to make profit, not a charity or a savings plan.

I have paid for peace of mind in case of fire, flood or other disaster and have been extremely satisfied when I have claimed.

As I have always had my own business I've never stolen from my employer either.

I've sacked the two that stole from me, though. And got them criminal records.
I don't think you got them criminal records Ethel. I would suggest that it was the police and the cps.

It is up to the police to prosecute.

If it was a first offence the police may have just given them a caution.
