Hi, my little one had his MMR jab about 3 wks ago, was ill a week after for 2 days as they said he may be, at the moment he has a hard large(pea size) lump behind his ear, he has had it for at least 4 days now, I thouht it might be his glands but after research it seems to be his lymph node. They said he may be feeling the effects of th mumps part of the vaccine at 3 wks but nothing about his lymph glands so just thought I would ask if anyone has had a similar experience so set my mind at rest.
Cheers ABers

Hi

No, not had that exact experience when my sons were little, but if you are in any doubt at all, my advice would be to consult a doctor. One of my boys had a really bad reaction to a whooping cough injection. Our GP at the time said I was imagining it and so I let him have the next dose. The worst thing I had ever done, he was so poorly and I thought he was going to die! Trust your instincts and don't worry what anyone thinks. Your child is the most important. Good luck! xx
