What lies did your mum and dad tell you?

Or maybe that you tell your kids? (Nothing serious I mean). My mum told me that eating too many eggs made you egg bound (eggs must have been a bit expensive for her in those days!) and that we didn't get tornados in this country (Wizard of Oz scared the hell out of me!) What well-meaning lies did they tell you?

I can remember my Mum saying that if you raised your hand to your parents, it would whither and fall off. Still not sure if she was telling the truth or not.x

They told me Muslims were our friends , and only wanted to integrate into our society . And therefore would never be a threat , or pose any danger to our civilised way of life .

I was enthusing about how kind my auntie and uncle were for adopting my cousin and how spoilt he would be and how lucky he was -then she toold me I was adopted -I burst into tears -think I just enthused too much.She isnt cruel BTW.
We once asked her to grow 'pear' seeds we found in budgie seed -she cultivated them beautifully -I still come out in a cold sweat at the thought of that one.Quality stuff tho lol
