Only since yesterday, but yes.
you can just keep your hands off my Bontempi

well..... I'm on the  willing organ donors  register.

But I'm not a donor yet!

Yes, and when I pop my clogs(not just yet though!) they can have the lot!  My wife is a little perturbed at the thought of giving up my eyes but it's my wish so she'll respect that.
Oops! Is it too late to change my answer to what jo griffin said?
i have been for years but age 53 now wonder if im too old, would my organs be any good now if i died ?
no, I'm not and I work in the NHS

Yes I am, but my husband says that he would say no to the docs if the worst happened, as he is against it (for reasons i'll never understand).  Is there anything I can do to overide this, as ultimately it would be his descision?  I have written quite an emotional message on the back of my donor card, with the hope that this may change his mind, whart else can I do?

Emmalee, at the risk of being insensitive, ask him if he would want the chance of life from someone's gift if the worst happened

or ask him to consider it the other way round, if you were in an accident and needed a donation would he still refuse to allow someone to give you a chance of survival as he is against it?

I think they should presume you wanted to donate your organs after death unless you specifically registered that you did NOT - would take out all the confusion and guilt/pain for the family as then you can definately do the thing that the deceased wanted (e.g. if they cared about it they'd have register a NO DONATION - if not its all fair game)

Yes theres someone I would love to give my organ to.
LOL kags!

Thanks everyone. Im in my final year of a graphic design degree and Im working on a campaign to convince people to donote their organs. Your opinions are very helpful!
Yes, I have the card. They can have what they like since I'm going to be cremated anyway.
Makes me feel abit squeemish to think about it but it is better for patients in dire need i guess.I would like to be cremated anyway so it wouldn't matter in the end really.
Same as others have put, they can take what they like when I'm gone but my mum, dad and partner don't like the idea, although I thin my dad and fella would respect my wishes at the end of the day. I said exactly what undercovers did and they went a bit squirmy, but I'm going to be cremated anyway (I hope).
well i had a think about it, then thought about other things until when asked at the driver licencing place if i wanted to be a donor it went something like this: PERSON: do you wish to be placed on the donor list sir? ME: Umm ooh ar...... PERSON: Yes ok thats good, thank you please take a seat When i was issued with my licence there it was good and clear in section 6b. DONOR
chucker - Although I wish to be cremated, the thought of someone digging my eyes out gives me the heeby jeebies! Apart from that, I would willingly donate my body - but if I came back to find that all my organs had been donated to a murderer, rapist or even an alcholic, I would not be a very happy Ghost!
i thought that if you were registered as an organ doner it didn't matter what your relatives wanted as it was your wish from when you were alive? Anyway, i have put my name on the list and TOLD my family that is what is going to happen! ;-)
As a renal recipient I am more than grateful to my donor and of course their family. I am also on the donor list and hope that after my death I will be able to give someone the same chance at life as I have been given.
