Hi, anthony, Taking the battery off the car all night will not do this! Have you made sure the screw on the leads are tight, if you have just put the battery on and done nothing else?

Have you got a immobiliser? If you car has got one then it could be the problem!

disconnect the battery and reconnect it again,

If all fails you have ignition problem,
It is not the battery - it is all the messing about with the elecrtics that you have been doing over the past few weeks - according to your 20+ posts with escort electrical problems anyway. I am not being funny, but you seem to be completely out of your depth. Take it to an auto electrician (i.e. someone who knows what they are doing with car electrics) and see if they can clear up your mess. A ford main dealer would be best - but if you cant afford that there are plenty of knowledgeable people around.

Waits for anthony25 to post his next electrical problem with his 1998 escort zetec after ignoring my post yet again..................................

tubeway thats funny mate because i found a break in the main cable supply from the battery to the fusebox repaired it today hey presto its done no need for any electrician and these websites are here for advice and answers i can ask as many times as i want and theres nothing wrong with learning it all along the way
Well done - You can ask as many times as you like - true enough. You managed this one without any advice from anybody - so maybe its worth taking a look first (another lesson learned)
Remember that I can give the advice that I feel is right too - and as you have obviosly been having a lot of trouble with your electrics (what is it 25 posts now) and were not solving the problem on your own (as they keep reoccurring) then an auto electrician is good advice. I did advise this before but you ignored it.
I am actually glad that you are getting the hang of it - but if you have any more electrical problems you will get an "I told you so" ;-)
