playing downloads from BBC IPlayer

I have installed BBB IPlayer but when I try to play a particular program the video will start then stop and then start again for aminute or two then stop again, this also happens when I log on to other music videos.
What is wrong please?.

That is because the video and music is 'streaming' - which is playing whilst downloading, rather than waiting for it to download fully then playing it.

It is not downloading quickly enough for a variety of reasons - most of which you have no control over.

Press 'pause' as soon as it starts to play, wait a few minutes and then press 'play'. This should resolve your problem.
