how to tell if a cat is in season

i have 2,8 month old ragdoll kittens 1 has started to make a funny noise,being more effectionate,she is booked in with vet on friday 19th to be spayed could she be in her first season(the other cat has already been done)

hi if your cat is meowing alot more then normal then that is one sign. also what you want to do is stroke her on her back towards where the tail is and if she starts to crawl along the carpet with her bum in the air then yes she is. also has she been shouting out the window at all? and also have you seen any cats outside that you havent seen before. these are all signs that she is.

Hi - we bought a young Devon Rex kitten and they way she carried off my nephew was absolutely inconsolable - he thought she was dying!! She was unbelievably vocal and sounded like she was in pain - we had to ring the breeder for advice - and embarassingly she told us that she was in her first season!! But it was really scary ; 0 )

yeh i also have a 8 month old kitten she has started doing this i was pretty scared didnt know what was happening does any body know how long this lasts 4 ?
