How do you take off the rear number plate on a Vauxhall Astra 'V' reg. A Phillips doesn't work , neither does a flat ,ordinary screw driver. I've shone a torch into the area and it looks like half a star shape? Is this a special Vauxhall tool or what? Does it have a 'type' name , or what??? Anyone there?? Help , please!! Cheers

Is it a Torx bit like this?

If so, you can get sets at Halfords and the like.
If its a rounded off star shape its a Torx bit. As you say it looks like a half a star it is probably some kind of Vauxhall security screw, mebbe?
