He's a year and a half old, male, named Dorito. He's a little over weight,I switched his food recently. He is constantly biting me and my mom, nothing severe, just more of a nibble. i've tried the water gun, ignoring him,and pushing my hand against his face, even saying "no!" sometimes i figured he was doing it because he was hungry,i'd realize it was time to be fed. But is there a reason why he could be biting? Any way I can get him to stop?

A number 5 cartridge comes to mind.
I think that you are supposed to ignore this sort of behaviour.

If you work out how to ignore him please tell me how you managed. My little Frankie drives me nuts pestering me for food - he doesn't bite or scratch but tries to climb my leg.
Try changing his name .Easyjet ,Northern Rock Argos or Boots. He could be revolting about being called after a crisp
Maybe he is trying to tell you that he doesn't like his new food, he would rather eat you?

My cat does it, he will sit on my knee and headbutt my arm so that I stroke him, when he has had enough he just turns round and sinks his teeth into my arm! I just shout NO! and push him off. I stops him.......for about 1/2 hour till he does it again.

As you say, it isn't nasty as he doesn't draw blood and I'm pretty sure he could it he wanted to!

He's been biting us before his food too.
I'm close to calling the humane society and asking, its driving us NUTS!
I think he's just being playful, if a tomcat that age was serious about biting you, you would certainly know about it, He would certainly draw blood, and you would have difficulty getting your finger away from his teeth, if it was your finger he was biting,
i had a tomcat like that always biting in a mishceivous way, but never really hurt, which he could have done if he wanted to, we used have pretend fights where he would bite and kick, with all fours but never had his claws out, so he was merely being playful,,, cos believe me a cat can really hurt you if he's nasty,

he's usually licking our arm or leg then just nibbles a little.i use to let him just bite me. now it's getting annoying because he'll run up next to us while we're walking or standing and just bite our leg.
My fat tom cat does this but only to my mum she is the one who feeds him, i think it is him being gready trying to get her attention to give him more food.
Have any of the above,worked,?
