was it the 70's or 60's that fondue was all the rage?
Must have prawn cocktail, chicken kiev, black forest gateau, cheese and pineapple cubes on cocktail sticks stuck into a grapefruit, cocktail sausages.  Am I showing my age??
I was a teenager in the 60's and I remember eating the same sort of thing I eat now at a buffet.  There were no Indian food items though.
Eggs, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, quiches and ham sandwiches are not new!
A bottle or two of Blue Nun & Black Tower
Try finding a cookery book from the sixties , Charity shops / oxfam bookshops are a good place to look. Marguerite Pattern and Good Housekeeping cookery books were always full of party recipes.

Fast food was just coming into vogue in the 1960s...think hot dogs and hamburgers, french fries (oops - chips), tacos, and pizza.

The space race was in full throttle, so Tang as a beverage would be very relevant.  Malts and milkshakes were also very popular.
