The latest measures the goverment are taking to combat Muslim terrorism, oh! so sorry "anti Islamic activity"
Young people found to be falling under the spell of potential terrorists will be targeted for help by community leaders and the authorities.
Outdoor activity centres and sports facilities will be sent guidance to stop them being used as meeting places by fanatics after the July 7 bombers were photographed attending a white water rafting centre in Wales.
Mosques will be helped to root out extremism, with imams encouraged to learn English. Efforts will be made to improve the access of women to mosques and their management committees.
There will be new advice for universities on how to deal with extremism on campus, and a crackdown on extremist material in libraries and galleries.
A forum of headteachers will be set up to advise on what more can be done to protect children and build bridges between communities.
Youngsters will be taught about all faiths in schools, and �2million will be spent "twinning" schools of different faiths.
Funding will be boosted to allow more youngsters to carry out volunteer work overseas.
The Government also wants to hold more "roadshows" of mainstream Islamic scholarship around the country.

The measures seem reasonable to me also. The re-branding has gone awry though.
I don't think it was fair or accurate to label the like of the 7/7 bombers "Islamic terrorists" . Their activities have nothing at all to do with Islam even if they themselves believe they are fighting that cause.
However, the rebranded "anti-Islamic activity" is equally wide of the mark. To plant a bomb on a train cannot be called an anti-Islamic activity and it is ludicrous to suggest it is.
"Anti-western terrorists" is the term I would use.

I have just watched "Who do they think you are" with Julia Sawalha and it gave you an idea of how intolerance (religious and otherwise) causes so many problems.
Her mother was decended from Hugenots (French Protestants) who were hounded out of France in their hundreds of thousands by the Catholic rulers in France.
Protestants who refused to convert had their children taken away and put into convents where they were forced to become Catholics.
The parents could have their belongings taken away, their home taken by the state, and could even be killed.
Over 200,000 people left France, with over 50,000 coming to England.
Religion makes people so tolertant doesn't it.

While I accept Jordan has improved, it showed how the men ran the country and women were not allowed to have any real responsibilities.
While Julia's mother broke out of this mould and statred her own business she had to do it in a world where the men looked down on the women, and it was hard work for her.
Many Muslims in the UK still treat their women like that, and there is no place for it in this country.
I saw a Muslim man in our local High Street the other day, and his wife was walking 6 feet behind, wearing her all in one burka, while pushing a push chair.
I got very angry. Women died in this country to get women the vote and to get them equal rights. I hate to see woman so subserviant to men.
There is no place for this medival thinking in 20th century Britain.
Let's try to reduce the number of Muslims now before it leads to a civil war.

Anti Islamic is the biggest load of horse i have heard from our useless home office for a while. They would like you to think that it is un-Islamic but i'm afraid if you read the Koran it is entirely in keeping with what it preaches. The Koran states that other faiths living amongst Muslims have got 3 choices:
1, Convert to Islam.
2, Suffer Dhimmitude (slavery) and pay a tribute to survive.
3, Death.
Try reading it if you want and then see how un-Islamic these terrorists are. It might open your eyes about how full of it this government is as well.

Yes i have oneeye, and at no piont does it advocate death and subjugation of other faiths. I take with that question you mean that you have not read the relevant parts of the Koran i refer to? Try it, but then i suppose that will mean you are unable to mount the expected liberal biased denial of what Islam truly represents.

To give one example: Deuteronomy 7:1-2,:" When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations�the Hittites, ***********, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy."
The Bible does also call for the murder of many people including those who work on a Sunday and those who were not a virgin on their wedding nights plus many many more.
It mentions that God killed kids for calling a person bald.
It mentions that you are free to trade in slaves.
But I suppose that is okay with you? or is the Bible truly evil as well?
Or maybe, just maybe, if you read anything out of context or take rules that were made almost two thousand years ago, there may be some ludicrous 'laws'.
