Now no offence to anyone called Cynthia or with a Cynthia in their life, but which Cynthia in 1955 would he have been thinking of to have come up with that name? Was there a famous Cynthia ever?? He was a hill farmer near Todmorden and there were no Cynthias in the family, i have proved that for sure.
What should you have been called???? lol

Dot - coming from a farming family do you think it possible it was after one of his cows? I am not being funny, but that's what my family did - named their daughters after prized cows (hence cousins Poppy and Daisy). I was damn lucky not to be called Ermentrude!!!

Hi Shaney!
Funny, my daughter's middle name is Helga, too. She was named after my favourite sister-in-law who died two years before she was born. But she got a more modern first name first name to make up for it!
Cynthia Lennon -only one I can think of.

The more you say it the less worse it gets -funny that.

I was to be Ann or Linda -late 50's vogue then I got Maureen and recently that has been the bane of my life -I actually liked my name as my maiden name was Irish and my married name is as well so they went well together -dont take to kindly with being called 118 as though they are the first to say and thank eff that the BOUNTY makers decided it was to be Audrey in the window in Amsterdam and not the Maureen tranny -lol
