When I go to poo, all that comes is A LOT of blood, mucus and undigested food.

Does anybody know what it is/ if it's serious?

Yeah, because I thought it would be so funny.

I think Anorexia is hilarious.

I think hating myself for being so fat when I also know I'm starving is a hoot.

I think that being afraid to get better but also afraid to carry of like this is THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD
so go to your GP and ask for help. Do you think that youre the only person to go through such feelings, youre not, so there are people out there who know how to help you and deal with these fears you have.
You are afraid of what you are doing to your body, no matter how you try and deny it, you know something needs to change. Thats why youve asked on here about the bleeding.
Jelly.Belly, you go to the doctors and you say, I am bleeding in my stools and my food is being broken down properly, it also contains a lot of mucus. Blood in your stools can mean nothing but it can also mean alot. You could have caused some serious irritation to your bowels (not to mention what the dehydration could be doing to your vital organs). Your doctor will ask you a series of questions and want to run some tests, in fact when you make the appointment ask to pick up a stool sample pot and take a sample with you ready ( you dont have to cram the pot full by the way, just a tiny bit will do). You can lie when he asks you the questions, but that will do you no good. He's not going to say now stop doing that you silly girl, his first priority is going to be finding out whats causing this blood, and he will offer you psychiatric help. Who knows it might just work.

If you and I were both to eat a huge meal totalling 3000 calories, and I let it run through normally and you took 30 laxatives. You would only lose 80 more calories than me. Better off jumping on a cross trainer for half an hour than risking irreversible bowel destruction. How would a colostomy bag effect your already poor self image.
I haven't had time to read tho' all the posts, so forgive me if it's already been asked, but what do your parents or next of kin think of your situation? Have you anyone in the family you can turn to for advice?

P.S. Your GP or a nurse at the surgery really are the only people who can help you with your medical problems.
*thro'
but that is exaclty what you are telling people, everyone is trying to help you but you just wont listen to what they are saying and making other excuses on top of that. My cousin had anorexia for years, she went down to 3.5 stone and it nearly killed, she only realised when she was told she had less than a month to live and got help, she IS still very skinny but no longer anorexia and has no more health problems. Get it sorted love, its for your own benefit, im sure if anything happend to you, it would cause pain for a lot of people
Ok, so you are obviously a very sarcastic person, which denotes intelligence whatever people may say. However, you are only 17. You can think whatever you want of what people with a lot more experience tell you, or advise you to do. You are still growing, and so is your body. You have plenty of time to do something about it. The fact that you think putting on weight ,when you are obviously so underweight, would make you "fat" tells me everything. Food does NOT make you fat. NO SINGLE FOOD makes you fat. Only the wrong diet will. You can put on weight and reach a healthy weight without being fat. Are you being bullied at school? Or maybe are you in a group that bullies people because of their weight, and try to "fit" in by keeping thin? You are a young adult, and you need to take responsibility for yourself. We all know it's not easy. It's just like any other addiction, except in your case, your addiction will kill you a lot faster. Only you can do something about it. Go see your GP.
And being plump is not the end of the world - whatever you may think.

Although it is very clear what you think of overweight people.

Go to the doctor and get help.
Hi there jellybelly.
I thought I'd leave a message after reading your comments, and the other people's comments too.
I am a recovering anorexic, I was a very big restrictor eating about 200kcal a day, everyday (although I did not take laxies)
And I know how you feel about not wanting to get help for your anorexia, as I was forced into it. Although I guess it has helped me a lot (and I am a healthy size 8, BMI about 19/20)
Although sometimes I'm desperate for the feeling of control and to be a lot thinner than I am now. I wait for the feelings to sub-side for a while, before they start again.
If it is true what you're saying, then you must get to the doctors, and find out what is wrong, it might be more than the laxies, it maybe cancer or something as serious.
The doctors will advise you, confidentially, but they cannot force you into anything, such as recovery or telling your family.
Ethel was very wrong in saying that 'Anorexics- are self-obsessed and have no care for others'
People who bullied me absolutely destroyed my life, I thought I had to 'crash diet' lets say, in order to be the thinnest and feel normal. That's where it became an obsession and I had to do it every minute of everyday.
I hurt my family so much, that they were the main reason I finally accepted help. Yes, I was obsessed with the way I looked, but I could never agree to anything else that has been said on here.
But please consider going to the doctors, they're there to help.
You sound as if you like to be in control and that is why you won't go to see your GP. But the reality is that if you continue indefinitely putting your head in the sand, one day something will happen, possibly quite suddenly, which you won't be able to control and you'll probably find yourself in hospital with tubes pushes in every oriface, and drips stuck in your arms. Which option is preferable?

Your blood discharge may be due to piles, laxitive damage or ulcerative colitis which is an inflamed bowel which can be treated by medication and a change of lifestyle. Or something else. Your life doesn't sound much fun at the moment and I'm sure you probably don't ever feel physically very well either.

Please do go and see your GP. You will certainly not be the first person they have seen with this problem and at least you will then have the peace of mind of knowing what is causing the bleeding, which is a very abnormal condition.
