life expectancy

Can anyone give me the life expectancy of a rooster please.
If it's not culled for food, obviously.

not something I have ever considered but interesting nontheless. Googled around and found the average life of a chicken is 8 years with a maximum up to 15. Longer than I expected!!

We've had a couple of chickens that both lived to 14 or 15.

They were both Bantams - that might be relevant.

Last one did go a bit senile in the end though - we moved the ark by 90 degrees and spent a week putting her in at night by hand because she couldn't work out what had happened
