My son is trying to find answers to a maths question n metric measures. He needs to know what 10 with a small minus in the top right hand corner with a number means. Similar to square meter symbols, but these are minus and they have 1, 2 or 3 beside them. Needed quite urgent

I think what you're talking about are indices. 10 to the power of -1 = 1/10 = 0.1
10 to the power of -2 = i/10squared =1/100 = 0.01

and so on........:o)
1st example -ten to the minus one is .1(point one)
next example ten to the minus two is .01(point zero one) etc
ten to the minus 4 would be .0001
