As far as i'm aware he admitted being responsible for her death as he did start the fire that caused it. He always denied intent to murder. I think 20 years is far more than he would have gotten for the same offence over here.

He could have been out had he admitted the killing before but he refused to hence the reason he was on Death Row for so long.

I believe it was involuntary manslaughter he was convicted of.

I think he has paid the price for whatever happened that night - the mother who had been partying asked him to look after the wee girl cos she was going out in the early hours.drunk, with a couple of boyfriends -he rufused -she still went out so the little girl was alone.

I dont see why he shouldnt get money for his story -Kerry Katona get money right left and centre for telling all about her 'drugs hell' and now the 'search for her father,.
