Happy New Year to you all. I'm doing a quiz for a school PTA event shortly and, in addition to reading out questions, I want to give the punters a written quiz to complete as the evening rolls on. I'm doing this with 12 questions - Q1 has one answer, Q2 has two etc up to Q12 having 12. Sort of thing I've asked for are, 4 stations on standard Monopoly Board, 7 Deadly sins so you know what I'm on about. Any ideas for suitable list type questions for 8, 9 or 10? Thanks in advance.

Bewlay, I suspected from your ascreen name that you were a Bowie fan (Hunky Dory - top LP!!!) - sadly I don't think my gang will share your passion : )

I've just found a potential winner in the 'quest for 9' - name the 9 golf courses currently on the rotation for the Open Championship. Whata d'ya reckon?

Here's the full list...

5. In the classic childrens show Thunderbirds, Jeff Tracys 5 sons piloted the craft what were their first names?
6. Robert Vaughn is the last surviving actor who played a member of The Magnificent Seven in the original movie name the actors who played the other six members.
7. Name the 7 Deadly Sins
8. Major world leaders meet every year at the G8 Summit name the 8 countries that make up that group of 8.
9. There are currently 9 courses on the rota to host the Open Championship 2 are local. Name all 9.
10. Athletics - name the ten events in a Decathlon
11. During the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, we have had 11 different Prime Ministers name them.
12. Name the gifts from The Twelve Days of Christmas
How about naming Queen Victoria's nine children? (I can't but I'm sure Google has the answer.)
Sorry, Rain Man, your final list wasn't here when I started typing my answer.
Question 1 and 3 are too similar.

If you know 1 you will know 3 and if you don't know 1 you won't know 3!!!!

I know neither.
For 3 if you want to stick with sport maybe go for the first three positions at the front of a rugby union scrum

Prop (loose head)
Prop (tight head)
Hooker

1 and 3 are similar to strike a balance between the blues and reds among the audience while maintaining the red superiority to annoy the headmaster (an avid Everton fan).
ABBA had nine number 1 hits

Waterloo
Mamma Mia
Fernando
Dancing Queen
Knowing Me, Knowing You
The Name OF The Game
Take A Chance On Me
The Winner Takes It All
Super Trouper
8 reindeer .. or maybe 9? Debatable, so maybe best avoided. Original reindeer were Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dunder and Blixem. (Dunder was later changed to Donder and in other works Donner, and Blixem was later changed to Blitzen.)
However, since Rudolf the red nosed one was invented, many sources would consider that there are 9 reindeer serving Santa

Duckshoot - I like your ABBA 9 better than my golf courses.

Thanks to everyone for their help!!!

Cheers
seven deadly sins - be prepared for variations on individual ones. Saturday's Guardian crossword had this theme, and I got hooked on greed, when they were using covetousness!

ps did you know that the Tracy boys in Thunderbirds were named after the original Apollo astronauts? I just love trivia!
