Any idea how long I have to wait till I can bend my leg enough to get into one?

be guided by your consultant. You still are not really allowed to bend it more than 90 degrees for ever (although i was bending more than that after 4 mnths) i still havent ad a bath and its been 18 months

so people who don't have baths in their houses smell?
people who cant get in and out of the bath smell?

Thanks for your post bednobs. My mum has had 3 replacements in total, the last one nearly killed her. She hasn't actually been in the bath more than a couple of times in 4 years. I thought she was exaggerating her inability and being overfearful but I see this is not just her.

You are right too. A bath isn't necessary to keep clean, tho I wish I could help her enjoy one again.

Keeping clean is no problem - I have a separate shower room but you can't lie back and soak and read a book in a shower...!

personally i just wouldn't want to risk it, although sometimes i long to!
However, i am of a younger generation (33) i suppose, who are probably happier with a shower
