Does anyone out there know of an easy way to remove old tile grout - is there any way of softening it to make it easier to remove. I bought a grout remover saw like gizzmo but it hardly makes a mark.

I just paint over old grout with a grout pen. Nice and white. Lovely.

Thanks Dacetine but I used a grout whitener pen before and after a couple of years it has started to peel away in places...so I thought,  out with the old...and in with the new...Can't be that difficult....(BIG mistake), I wish that I hadn't started !

To minimise the damage to the tiles, you will have to use your grout removing tool and some elbow grease I'm afraid.  There is no easy solution.  Just make sure you replace it with a good grout that stays whiter longer (assuming it is white)
