Who do I complain to regarding prices as displayed to the public greatly differing to the actual price charged for a take away portion of fish and chips?

the shop owner?
Don't forget, the prices depend on the size of the fish portion.
are you complaining about the price of fish and chips generally, or are you complaining that a particular shop advertises one price and then charges you another (dearer) price?
take away fish and chips are totally overpriced for what you actually get, but it's your choice as to whether or not you buy them.

...your local traiding standards officer....

You will find that the price of cod and chips are going up because of the lack of cod, and the cost of shipping in potatoes, because a lot were ruined in the recent floods.

I think this is misrepresentation and trading standards fine companies like Tesco loads if a shelf marked price differs from the charge at the till.

Ah its the fact that the prices are clearly displayed and the shop charges more than its displayed prices. Trading standards it will be then - thanks everybody.
have you not bothered to ask why???? maybe they are getting the boards updated, a small business trying to make it is hard enough without people like you going against them when they are providing you a service none the less !!
They aren't providing a very good service if their prices are wrongly displayed.

Trading Standards is the way forward. And find another fish and chip shop to use!
I wish, you'd listen, they are going up because of what i said in my previous post. I even saw it on the news.
If you dont like the prices, dont eat them!!!!!!
..adamhornsby It does not matter why the prices go up or down, that's entierly irrelevant ...the law states that if the price is displayed at a price then that is what you agree to pay for it, if the price is different at the till then they are breaking the law ,be they a massive supermarket or a family run chippy.....
adamhornsby, not only was your last post irrelevent to the question, I found it unnecessarily rude! Did you really miss the entire point of the question or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Be nice!
