Montcrieff - I know what you mean because I thought the same when it was originally erected but now I see it as a thing of beauty and I do see the point of placing is as a gateway to the north - I am happy to see whenever I pass - strange innit.

What did it cost - do you know?

I just checked on wiki wiki pedia & it says about �1m paid mainly by the lottery.
