Yesterday I was having a joke at school about my mate gemma with evie, a very good mate of hers. The teacher asked where she was and I said she was ill. Then evie said 'shes got an STI' but no one was shocked by this because she said it as a joke. I decided to say 'yeah and shes gone to the hospital in birmingham to fix it'. We left it at that after a chuckle. It's only a class of 10 people and no one would've spoke of it again had evie not later texted gemma saying 'we told miss that you have an STI' which made it sound 100 times worse than it was. Now gemma has fallen out with evie and I've been dragged into it. How can I take the blame off evie a little without wrecking their friendship, my friendship with evie (even more than it now is) or my friendship with gemma?

You sound like Vikki Pollard.
Doesn't she just!
Evie's "joke" was in very poor taste wasn't it? Rumours like that have a habit of sticking.
Vikki Pollard and Lauren Cooper rolled into one!

Makes me shudder!
A little more educated than VP I think! ;)

Hey mimi-moomoo, hope things aren't too bad between the 3 of you. And I hope, without sounding preachy, you've had a bit of a lesson in thinking before you speak and considering your actions a little more before taking them.

As for now, can't you just let gemma know that a joke got out of hand, and that you are as much to blame as evie? Your own pride isn't worth sacrificing friendships for, and if you take a slice of "I-messed-up" pie, gemma and evie will probs respect you more for it, and no harm done. Face it, it's gemma who has to face everyone else having digs at her...

Lots of luck x
