If anyone can get this they are amazing. I don't have much information except that it was a sort of educational history/science type of programe taht had a fairly large cast. It was sort of in the style of the shows that Johnny Ball used to do. I know for a fact one of the cast was Sylvester Mccoy and each week, one of the group drew the short straw and had to go and see the resident inventor who I think was called Wilf Lunn, and his strange inventions used to keep bloeing up. Any aideas anyone! its been driving me potty for years

Did a quick search and found this:

You know, it might simply have been Vision On which had those charachters in it (ceratinly Wilf Lunn and Sylvester McCoy were in it) and the inventor was I think called 'the prof'

Google 'vision on' Mr Ix and that should confirm it

It was actually called 'Eureka'. Wilf Lunn provided comic relief with disaster-prone useless inventions, including an exploding seagull-shaped hat. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/tv/titles/eureka.shtml

Thank you it was Eureka I was thinking of. I had forgotten Beadle was in it.
