Now I have looked this up so am not being lazy but I was told today to fill up my car as there is potentially going to be industrial action and fuel blockades at various depots next week.
I have (hangs head in shame) filled the car to the neck just in case.

Anyone else heard of this?

Thanks Kempie -I dont usually react when I heard this type of thing -in fact I usually dig my heels in at scaremongering BUT a gut instinct made me act.

Glad I did now.

Patricia- think the whole idea is to bring the prices down -in saying that i dont think I have been done cos unlike a few years ago I wont be scratching about for petrol this time.

I havent panic bought -I have just learned from my former complacency.

BTW -funny how it hasnt been on the news as such -another attempt to hoodwink us?
Maybe not being on the news will help prevent a mass shortage of fuel caused by everyone rushing out to fill up their tanks and every empty petrol container they can lay their hands on! :0)
The Italian blockade was on BBC news this morning, so be prepared for a shortage soon.
LOL libertie ~ that always pees me off!

Thank goodness it will be on Saturday. I always fill my car up on Fridays.

Guilty as charged re filling up -but as much as I agree with you totally its dog eat dog out there.
If I was to take the moral highgound (not aimed at anyone at all -just me) which I often do it wouldnt make any difference at all -except I wouldnt be able to use the car and would have problems getting to the airport.
Sorry all but my last post was a joke... i have been informed off a tanker driver that there will be a blockade so shortages will be happening from this weekend- i have filled up my tank ready as i cant get a bus to work as none run that way.
last time it happened i worked for the council as an essential car user so i had a letter to that effect so i was able to get petrol...ive since changed the job with the council so i cant have that any more..
To be honest most drivers...me included...will be filling up before the week is out, my main grouse is really with those who fill up, do 10 miles then queue to top up their tanks again, and usually have a couple of full petrol cans in their garages - just incase....
The full benefit of a protest on any motorway is ridiculous as the traffic continues to move and the police will prosecute any driver causing a problem. Is it better to select 'A' roads into the capital which will cause gridlock?
