Someone who lived in my house a few years ago (i don't know them etc) must of borrowed from MFI as we kept getting lots of letters for years i eventually opened one as we had sent them all back and they never stopped. The debt was about 1,800 and i emailed them stating this person does not live here and has not for years. we never heard anything again.
Does anyone know what happens to these debts? i always thought the Bailiffs came around or they stopped anyone getting credit in the address. Nothing has happened.
Are these things just written off? I have never really had loans etc, but just seems unfair that these people get away with it. Doesn't it?

Why did they loan to a child? it's all very baffling. Does not help you thought does it? They must be slack when choosing who to loan to or it's just too easy. I have heard of someone going to court to clear the address and only paying about 13. Have you tried a solicitor? i know you can get advice for free.

I know i have been lucky
Just keep sending the letter back. As you have not heard anything else the message has got through that the person who owes the money no longer lives there.

The wont "get away with it" as the debt will be sold to a DCA who will then trace the debtor.
