you can only get a sicknote from your gp if he or she feels you are genuinely to unwell to carry out your normal work. If you are going to be suspended on full pay, going off sick will not be of any benefit to you because you will be off already!
I am confused - the other day you said that you had already been signed off sick for stress and were worried that your employer mat investigate you whist you were off.

What have you done, why would you be investigated? Have you been signed off sick or have you been suspended?
While suspended you can submit a sickness certificate, most individuals following your thoughts usually submit one for stress ,usually work related. The benefit to you is that the investigation into why you had been suspended will cease, to avoid any ET difficulties later. Most employers will then seek to look at your capability do conduct your role should your sickness continue in the medium ter. You should be made aware that the investigation/ suspension is able to recommence once you return and can and will be referred to in any future references should you decide to leave before the investigation is complete and any disciplinary outcome is reached.
