PS3 game for 15 year old - what's the best?

Hi, I need to get my 15 yr old nephew a ps3 game for xmas and was just having a look on play.com for some ideas.... what's the latest must have game? i've found one due for release on 14/12 called the orange box which looks quite good as far as i can tell but i know nothing about them! please can you suggest any for me?

orange box is basically an old pc and original xbox game from 2004 'half life 2' plus a lot more besides.
if he has not played it before he should like it but it is a first person shooter which may not be to his tastes.

how about the new 'need for speed' game. think it came out last week..

try assassins creed however it is a 16 but its worth it. its a brilliant Christmas present. you can get it for xbox 360, pc and ps3
