Jonathan Ross last night joked that he is worth more than 1,000 BBC Journalists. Ross' comments at the British Comedy Awards, were in response to criticism of his 6M year contract with the Beeb.

The very fact that someone can consider themselves worth more than 1000 other people, regardless of what they do for a living, is totally ridiculous and should be treated with utter contempt. You just have to consider people like John Pilger to see how ludicrous a claim like this is (joking or not).
I like him when he is not in one of his self-appreciation phases. Not worth six million tho' - I want his agent to work for me though.
as far as i am concerned,he is a foul mouthed yob,who should not be allowed anywhere on tv,his brother paul is the talented one in the family.
This reminds me of the fact that I am FORCED to buy a license to have a television , irrespective of what channel I would choose to watch .

At least with a subscription system all round, I would have a choice as to whether or not I contributed to the wages of this overated individual
I don't think JR attracts us "yoof" viewers necessarily. He's simply the one the BBC have plonked in prime time shows and given major stars to interview. If you put sock puppet in his seat and pulled in the same guests the viewing figures would be the same.
Yes he's paid far too much. It's not a private company lining his bank account; it's the British public and we have no choice over who we fund regarding the license fee. Hardest of all to take is the Oh-so-funny jokes he makes regarding his bulging coffers.
If the BBC are so in love with the man, why don't the BBC clone him and achieve their dream of having him on air 24 hours a day?
How much do his massive team of writers get?

Never seen any evidence of a massive team of writers, are your sure about that curiosity?
