I have a word doc with a list of names & numbers. I need the list alphabetically in one doc & the same doc again but numerically. Is there any way I can get Word to sort it alphabetically for one document & numerically for the same document. Thanks.

So, do you mean a spreadsheet? It's a while since I did CLAIT. That would make sense I can see. I'll have a go. Thanks for that..

Thanks Neil. I think I may be able to sort that now with that advice from you. x

That will sort bye the first field in your list ie.

1 - smith
2 - jones
48 - greene

However, you'll find it tricky to sort it via any other field. ie

48 - greene
2 - jones
1 - smith

A table is the way to do it.

Thanks to both of you. I'll have a mess around with a document anyway, experiment.
