My husband's aunt (70) has EVERYTHING!! She is quite well off and hasn't really any hobbies, doesn't watch a lot of TV and reads little. (No - I don't know what she does all day either!!) We did the goats in Africa thing last year and all sorts of gift vouchers in previous years but I'd like to get something more personal this year, so any suggestions for a Christmas present (Around 50) would be greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Hi liverboys,
Have you thought about a nightdress? or a bed jacket? maybe some night cream, have you noticed if she uses a particular bath salt? ie: Radox. Does she listen to the radio? would she like a talking book?
Does she write to anyone? would she like a box of writing paper and envelopes?
or maybe she paints?.....

B. xxx :)
A nice hamper filled with her favourite food and drink ??
How about a digital photo frame with a pre-loaded memory stick - you could put family photos on. Scan in some old photos etc and make it quite personal. The frames have come down in price and you can get some for around 40 in Asda.
Digital radio with presets so she can set her favourite stations & then just press the relevant button!
treat her to a pampering package .. either a good haitdo at her favourite salon - if she still goes. or, something at a beauty salon .. manicre/pedicure/facial etc
sorry . that first one should have said 'hairdo'
How about a pre-paid total pampering session at a beauty clinic ? Does she like going to the theatre or opera - maybe some tickets for an interesting show ? If she has a fondness for a particular magazine (eg Radio Times), how about a subscription ?

I do like the Jillius' idea of a hamper filled with favourite food and drink - you couldn't really go wrong there - especially if the hamper was filled with really good quality stuff that she wouldn't normally buy herself.

Folks thanks a million for all the great ideas! I think I'll go for the hamper idea with smellies, nice pyjamas and slippers - that way she can pamper herself! Puddycat, thats a great idea, I'm off to asda tomorrow to buy the photo frame for my hubby - he starts a new job in the new year so it'll be nice to put on his desk.
we are all glad to have helped ... merry christmas
