In very simple words could someone tell me how to get the PC with Vista to use Photoshop 7 as the default program for Opening a Picture file.

Locate one of your picture files
right click the file
select 'open with'
select 'choose program'
select Photoshop 7
select 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'
click OK
