Did anybody else see Cranford last night?? It was sooo good. I do love good old fashioned period dramas like that!! This one is brill.

You must have been reading my mind taliesin238.
I was just about to post and identical thread.
I, as a rule, do not like period films or series, but this has to be one of the best things the BBC has ever filmed.
Even the cast are fantastic. All well known names too. In fact, I emailed my Sis in the USA to tell her to watch it if it is ever shown there. It's great!

It's excellent. I don't particularly like period dramas, but this is so fantastic and of course the cast are wonderful.

There are some wonderful female characters in this, it restores my faith in BBC period drama after the re-written history that is The Tudors.

we really enjoy it as well, i only watched it by accident...one of those power struggles with the remote that the wife won and i was pleased she did.
