I am going to a funeral in a catholic church on tuesday i have been told women should wear something on their heads is this right?

Nope. Maybe in the old days in Ireland / Spain / Italy etc but it is not custom anymore.

I have been to a catholic wedding and a catholic baptism and none of the women wore anything on their heads.
It was a requirement, but like most things, it has lapsed in modern times.
Im catholic and it mustve been a custom years ago as I have never heard of it. I do remember when I was a child something about men having their caps off in the chapel.
