Hey does anyone know the name or artist of the song that starts with

I think it was an old garage song.

Not sure of the last word, or of how to spell it really, but if anyone has any idea, I would be extremely grateful as i've been singing that first bit since my french exchange in 1999 and can't remember the rest!!

Thank you so much scott076q!! That's the song i was thinking of!! I feel really foolish now for not realising the last word would have been 'da reefa'. But then i was only 14 years old...
