How do I convince my insomniac housemate to go to sleep? This person is getting on my nerves, staying up till odd hours of the morn, typing away clickety click on his little computer, leaving the light on all night ... occassionally getting up to go to the loo (the loud flush wakes me up) or going over to the fridge to make a midnight snack (munch munch, burp - this wakes me up too!)..... I have lent this person some classical Cd's as well as a packet of special camomile tea (it helps sedate and relax before bed) but all in vain I'm afraid. He's an addicted insomniac and just will not go to bed on time. Not only is he ruining his health with his bad habits and keeping me up with him (as i'm very senstive to noise and light). What do I do? Is there some aromatheraphy oil that I can put in his room or on his pillow, that will knock him out until morning time??Any tips appreciated xxx

I know the solution to the problem, however, I am one of those old Grandparents you despise - so I won't bother you with it - I will wait for a young person to find out the solution and tell you.

Why don't you move?

That's what most sensible people do when they share a house with someone incompatible.

btw. BBW's age has nothing to do with the good advice she gives, her life experiences merely endorse her good common sense. You would be wise to befriend her.
someone shares with you???? the problem isnt that they cant sleep but that they are mad!
Maybe the housemate daren't go to sleep for fear of what blu3wave may do to him whilst he's asleep???
Well I think you should look on the bright side, at least your flatmate is not fugly.
A hammer administered to the head forcefully will work wonders and stop those annoying toilet breaks too. No thanks needed, I'm just glad to be of service.
well, why not get him to read the OAP threads on AB?...apparently they're very soporific.

hope hes not fat ...
