if your parents and te girl's parents are alright about it - it has nothing to do with your mates. If you feel awkward, then you must feel uncomfortable about something.

i have a sister aged 16 so i was a bit unsure about dating her, but then i got to know her and fell in love with her and now the age dont matter,
ive told a few of my mates, the ones ive know longest and they thought it was a bit wrong, so im kinda worried about telling my other friends
When the girl's 20, and you're 28, the age gap won't seem quite as bad, but the problem is that all young people change so much in their teens. What might seem like a dream relationship to you now, could turn very sour in a couple of year's time, as you both grow and want different things out of life. I'd love to say that everything'll be great, but just be aware that as your girlfriend matures, she'll probably want to branch out and date other guys, especially once she gets to work and meets lots of new people.
My daughter is 15 and her bf is nealy 19 - the main problem is that he can do so much more than her - pubs clubs etc.

Also she is doing her GCSEs so I only let her see him one night in the week till 10 and then once at the weekend.

If they have a problem, they have to consider that he is a man and she is a child still. When I was 15 my bf was 21 and he was a nasty man who manipulated me as I was young. That would be a concern too but you sound a nice person!
I meet my fella a week after my 17th birthday, he was 22, so same kinda age gap i guess, as far as I know he had no problems with his mates, (mind you, most arent really in the position to question or comment on relationships with the way they act!)
My fella is now 26 & I'm 20, ans we are very happy :)
Good luck to ya!
best advice I can give is pull a bird 25 lol

at least she can drive...
ice maiden, when she is 20 he will be 26 not 28 lol, so even better, if you both are happy then its nothing to do with your mates but if you have to ask the question on here then as ice maiden said, something isnt quite right for you.
when i was 33 i met a 17 yr old for a date, she made it clear she wanted a relationship but i felt awkward about the age gap so didn't meet her again, regretted afterwards though, especially when she sent me a pic now shes 22 and shes matured into a right stunner!

i love this girl so its not a problem with her age, its just it took me about 4 months to get used to it .ive know her for about 8 now and we've been together for about 2 months.

i cant expect my mates to be fine about it when i wasnt, plus my mates are kinda idiots. i dont want to lose my mate so i need to think of a way to tell them which they wont go off it about.

but i would rather lose mate than this girl so your right i dont know why i asked for help.

thanks for all your suggestions
