what are the best conditions to store orchids once they have flowered ?

Depends which type you have. For the more common moth orchid just leave them in a cool room and dont water them very much. Allow them to dry out but make sure the foliage does not begin to die. After a few months keeping them very dry put them in a warmer room with good light and water them well. This should trigger them into re-flowering.

Hawkwalk. Thank you for your reply. The species that i have is phalaenopsis, i have no further information, could that change your views ?
Phalaenopsis is a moth orchid so just try as I have said above - good luck.
