I don't really follow you.

Did you get an email from somone who appeared to be your credit card company saying that you had a new email address associated with your account? Maybe it advised you to click on a link to confirm it?

If so, do NOT click and confirm anything like this as it is most definitely a phishing scam.

Thanks for quick reply no did not get it in an e mail I have read all about that. It was when I went to access the page for the company.
In that case, it sounds like it's just a general warning from Windows. I would still be wary though. Make sure any site you enter personal information into has the yellow padlock associated with a secure site.

Check the address of the website to make sure you haven't been redirected without your knowledge. Never trust any site that doesn't display an address that you are expecting.

It may all sound a bit paranoid but you really have to be careful nowadays on te net.

Capital OneSitemap Contact us Security Your Card Account Home Credit Cards Savings Accounts Your Card Account 404 Error: Page Not Found
The page you requested was not found. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

This is what came up and when i clicked on card account that was when i got windows live message supicious web site but address had been changed to www.capitaloneonline .co.uk as it was just www.capitalone before
www.capitalone wouldn't be a valid website as it doesn't have a .com, .org, .co.uk and so on after its name.

www.capitalone.co.uk is a genuine site. What address did you type in to get to the capitalone site?
Question Author

Fair enough. Just be very careful of where any links may send you and if in doubt, contact capital one by phone and do NOT enter anything personal if you are even a slightly bit unsure.
