When used as a venue for concerts, is it enclosed or still an outdoor arena?

Very much outdoor - there's no roof anyway, unlike, say, cardiff's millenium stadium. As a venue it holds a bloody big crowd, but the acoustics are terrible due to the echo from the enormous stands.

Thanks for that.

I was weighing up where would be better to catch Celine Dion live next May.

Croke Park in Dublin would be far easier to get to, but I was concerned that it may well be an outdoor venue only and not like the Millennium Stadium, with which you compared it to yourself, Whickerman.

So its either the O2 in London or the MEN arena in Manchester.

Is the O2 the dome thing?

Have you ever been to a gig in the MEN?
Nope, neither of them I'm afraid. Been in Croker a few times, but then it's just a short trip from my home in SE Ireland.
(Been to the millenium in cardiff for the rugby, but that's not the same!)

The O2 place is the millenium dome, as far as I know.
