Is it best to have a new car treated with ptfe or is it better to wax with a top quality wax. I would be interested to hear ABers views on this, because I have read so many contradictary articles regarding this. What are your experiences? Jonukas

I think it is just another way for the salesman to make extra commision.
I thought ptfe was a tape used by plumbers to seal joins?

you are not trying hard enough Slackalice, PTFE is a acrylic paint guard, and I agree with you, Toureman, it is another way to increase the salesman's commision. Unfortunately for him, I declined the treatment, but if I can get a positive feedback on the treatment, I would buy the treatment and do it myself for a third of the price the car dealer quoted.
Thank you both for your input,
