Hi, I wasn't sure whether to post this in 'Food' or 'Health'. Someone I know is recovering from a serious operation, which has left him diabetic. He is still confined to bed for much of the day, and will be for some time. He can only eat small amounts of easily digestible food at the moment, and as a consequence is losing weight, which he can ill afford to lose, rapidly. Can anyone suggest any foods that will help him gain, or at least, help him maintain, weight?

He's very poorly, and any advice you can give will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

You could try something like Complan. This is easily digested and as it is a liquid is often easier to take than food. Hope he improves soon.
this is very good to use

i am jelly is good with fruit in you can get from tesco they are called Dole they are not that sugary as mainly water, bananas are good for energy, stay away from mashed potatos as they give out energy quickly so look at low gi food it gives slow releasing energy then top up with complan x
is he seeing a dietitian? GP could arrange this, as dietitian can look at what he is already eating and help out here and there.
