Does anyone out there know how to recover the radio code on a 1991 thet has just had the battery changed by the local EXPERTS!!!!!?
Also does anyone know what the SHIFT light on the dash means (it,s an auto!)

Presumably your automatic transmission has selectable gears in addition to the Drive setting ;-)
Thus the Shift indicator light will function in the same way as those installed in cars with a manual transmission i.e. by indicating when the engine is revving above a preset limit and therefore a gearchange is advisable.
In my estimation a superfluous piece of kit - any driver allowed on the public highway should know (hear/feel) when the engine requires a gear change without the need for instrumentation (tachometer/rev counter/shift light).

It seems to think there's another gear hidden in there somewhere! As far as I know, GM never fitted an Overdrive to their auto boxes(unlike Ford) & if they did,,, where the hell is the switch?
