An old girlfriend of mine used to make me a casserole which used sausages, sliced potatoes, mulagatawny soup and baked beans. Does anyone have the recipe as it was delicious (unlike her - she ran off with a friend of mine!!!)?

You can buy sausage casserole mix. I know Asda's own make recommends adding baked beans, and I don't see why you can't dump anything else in with it, including your soup and tatties.
Sounds great, I must try that. But don't forget to fry the sausages first. And when I add left-over baked beans to anything, they seem to overpower other flavours, so I'd rinse them first.
no two of my sausage casseroles are ever quite the same as i put in whatever is to hand, including any veg hanging around in the fridge.
i too would just put everything in the pot, although personally i don't cook the sausages first, just sling them in along with everthing else.
i find baked beans tend to 'catch' on the bottom of the pot if you're not careful too, so a regular stir is good.
