I have a Panasonic XR49 camcorder which is quite old, about 8/9 years. It has always worked ok and was the other day until i took out a cassette and put another one in, and it wouldnt shut. If i hold it shut it doesnt register there is a cassette in it so i cannot record. can i get it repaired or do it myself or is it not worth it? i cant afford to buy another one.
Thanks in advance

Hi there,
Your best bet is to take it along to your nearest camera shop, some still repair things. But it will cost just to get a diagnosis, repair will usually be extra. As the camera is 8 or 9 years old I suspect it will cost more to fix than to buy a new one. Argos ( for example ) are selling mini dv camcorders from 145 and dvd cameras from 199.
