Did you ever know anyone that worked at Metro Vicks in Trafford Park? Properly named Metropolitan Vickers, they were taken over by AEI. At one point over 20,000 people worked there, including me for a short time. My dad did 20 years there before being made redundant in 1967.

When I was a kid loads of local men worked there or, like my dad, at Irlam Steel Works.
