Can anyone remember a british film released in the mid nineties, which had a couple falling in love, and then the female partner getting very sick (maybe MS or something degenerative), and he having to look after her? It was a really moving film, and I wanted to get a copy ?

iris? it's about iris murdoch's struggle against alzheimer's...
How about "Shadowlands" (1993). C.S.Lewis (Anthony Hopkins) falls in love with American fan Joy Gresham (Debra Winger). He then looks after her when she develops a terminal illness.

Thanks for the answers.  Unfortunately, neither of the two films suggested is the one I was struggling to remember.  It was a bit more of an independent sort of film.  released probably 1995..Hope someone can remember, or even suggest a way to find?
